The Interzone Mailing List

Aren't mail robots wonderful things? Why, I remember the time when ours started a full-scale war against one at connect.com.au in the Eastern States. Ah: megabytes of bandwidth eaten by the crazed programs... but I digress. Interzone uses a mail robot (List Server) called "netslave@midnight.com.au" to deliver messages to a large and ever-growing list of subscribers. Initially, this list was managed manually (as a CC: list), but now, through the wonders of modern technology, it's all automatic. Not only can we post out propoganda (see JUNK:MAIL, below), but everyone on the list can post to everyone else! And you thought the Web was time-wasting! Ha!

"Junk" was the name we intended to use for the planned Interzone Magazine which has, of course, yet to emerge. "JUNK:MAIL" is the electronic substitute, which is posted to the subscribers to the Mailing List (called "junkmail@", just to confuse you) on a semi-regular basis. It's our intention that JUNK:MAIL provide as wide a coverage of local and national news and events of relevance to potential Interzone-goers (or former Interzone-goers) as possible. It welcomes contributions (sent to interzone@midnight.com.au) and will attempt to base its content on its readership's interests.

To join the Interzone Mailing List (and thus receive JUNK:MAIL), simply post a message with "SUBSCRIBE [address] junkmail" in the body of the message to netslave@midnight.com.au. To unsubscribe, do the same, substituting "UNSUBSCRIBE" where appropriate. To spam all the poor folx who have already done the former (or who've been maliciously SUBSCRIBED by their sadistic friends) post your speil to junkmail@midnight.com.au.
